10 billfish released during day 4 of Big Rock Tournament

Team Yellowfin released the 58th fish in the 58th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament today, the 4th day of the event.

61 boats fished, 113 layed out

The 2016 Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament is heading into the home stretch after day 4, which did not see any blue marlin come to the scales.

Only 61 boats fished today, while 113 opted to lay in. Boats are allowed to fish 4 of the 6 days of the tournament, and with the seas being what many anglers noted as “sporty” today, most of the boats took the opportunity to rest up.

A total of 10 billfish were released on the day, including three blue marlin, three white marlin, and 4 sailfish.

The following boats each released a blue marlin: Sushi, Prime Time, and Honey Hush.

The white marlin releases were performed by Salvation, Stream Weaver, and Islander.

The four sailfish were released by the following boats: Hammer Time, Chaser, Coverage, and Salvation.

Fishing starts back at 9 a.m. Friday, with scales closing at 7.
