This was Hunter Gregson’s first turkey. The 7-year-old was hunting with his dad, Michale Gregson, in Pitt County, NC on April 4, 2023. The young hunter killed his gobbler at 4:35 p.m., and to make the hunt even more memorable, the bird weighed 23 pounds and had an 11 1/2-inch beard, along with 1-inch spurs. Topping the trip off, it was a family double, as his dad also pulled the trigger on a gobbler that weighed 19.5 pounds, had a 10-inch beard and 1-inch spurs. It was a hunt that neither will ever forget!
