Hannah’s 2nd Turkey

Hannah

I went turkey hunting May 3rd with my boyfriend and one of our friends. It was a windy evening hunt after work. We went over to our friends property and saw this huge gobbler strutting in the field. After we assessed the situation and saw the direction him and his hens were heading and we decided to put on a stalk. Once we crawled up the adjacent road bed we were within 80 yards of the bird. With some light scratching in the leaves, the gobbler closed the distance fast and hung up between 40-45 yards. Made a light call and took my shot. This was my first season hunting and this was my second turkey harvested. He had 1 5/16 inch spurs and 11 1/2 inch beard.
