While hunting a spot on WMA in Newberry County I have hunted off and on for 50 years, I came across some good sign that appeared to be a nice buck working an area of cutover pines just a few days ago. So I set up a good spot on the ground and was just hoping to put some meat in the freezer. At 4:15, he stepped out on the edge and was browsing at around 100 yards from me. Took my shot and the 25-06 did its job harvesting him. He is my biggest buck to date and it was just good old fashioned deer hunting. No cameras or any detailed scouting. Just pure luck. The way my Uncle and grandfather taught me the day they took me to this area!
