This deer showed up on trail camera for the first time all season on October 29th, i hunted him every evening from October 30th until the day i finally got him on November 7th, 2024 around 5:12pm. He only made one other appearance which was November 6th at 4:04 am. Walking in i felt really good about my chances on the night of the 7th since i knew he was in the area just the morning before. i have never killed anything bigger than an 8 pointer my entire life. So when i seen this beauty coming out of the thick pines my heart started racing. Once he was in the open he stopped and was looking in my direction, i have never seen anything so beautiful in the forest before. He was walking right towards me and once he was in a nice opening i placed my rifle scope on him and followed him until he stopped. The first time he stopped i placed the crosshairs on his chest and he dropped on the spot once i pulled the trigger. There was no greater feeling. i grabbed my own head and was saying to myself i got him i got him. I made my phone calls to my friends and dad to let them know. My dad come to the woods to take some photos for me and help me load. him in the truck. grabbing those horns to drag him out was an awesome feeling. Brandon Ray Franklin County NC 11/7/2024.
