deer was taken in woodleaf nc in rowan county. on 9/7/24 at 7:30pm it is a 8 point buck in full velvet. I got him with my compound bowtech outlaw bow at about 18 yards. I am 30 years old. I have seen the deer once on camera before. he ran approximately 50 yards.
this was my first time hunting my own land and this was only my second buck. I got in early at 3:00pm and I saw my first deer at 5pm it was a young 8 and a young 6 they had no interest in stopping but it was a relief to see deer. then around 6pm I had another young 8 and 7 walk in and they were eating acorns from a oak tree about 50 yards away and I watched them bed down beside me then around 7pm the deer pictured walked in and stopped right infront of me to eat. he was about 18 yards away and gave me enough time to take my shot. I saw him jump and kick and run about 20 yards he stopped for a second and then ran about another 20 yards and I heard him crash. I was so excited I was silently yelling in my stand. I still haven’t been able to shake my excitement. he is the first buck in velvet I have ever seen and the nicest deer I have ever seen where I live.
