Wake County 9-pointer

I have several weeks of history with this buck I nicknamed 24-ounce/Tall Boy due to his tall tines. He was showing up on my Moultrie camera every morning at light and every evening before dark. I was hoping to get him in velvet, but a few days before season he had already shed his velvet. I went on opening morning but did not see him, then I went Sunday evening and right after a good rain storm, he showed up right before dark. But I could not get a shot on him.

I returned the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2023 and as usual, right before dark, he showed up and gave me a quartering-to-me shot. I shot him with an Excalibur crossbow. We tracked him about 60 yards towards a dry creek bed. This was a special moment I am very thankful and blessed to get him
