Been seeing this guy on camera since early July in velvet! Weekly pattern turned into daily pattern of morning and night activity. With having a sick family member and being out of town, I wasn’t able to have my first hunt until Friday evening, Sept. 29, 2023. And to my luck, he didn’t show up. Returned Saturday evening and couldn’t get the shot. Returned Sunday morning, Oct. 1 and he came in promptly at 7 a.m. Perfect broadside opportunity at 20 yards from my ground blind and he only ran about 40 yards into the treeline. My trusty little Barnett Recruit proved itself again to be a perfect crossbow!
Kicking off the season to a great start and can’t wait to hopefully fill the remainder of my scorecard!
