My son has had this deer on cam for years and he hasn’t changed through all the years he has had him on cam. He hunts 1/2 a mile from where I hunt and this year this old buck showed up where I hunt and had finally developed some unique characteristics of a split beam. I saw him on open day of gun season and one other time but was unable to get a shot. This evening he finally came out and stayed in the open long enough to get a shot but at 200yds which was farther than I had ever shot. After getting set up, I squeezed the trigger, he jumped and took off. We found him not 50yds in the woods and it was a perfect shot.
