Hunter allowed buck to walk last season
Taylor Scott of Summerton, SC killed a 13-point buck in Clarendon County on Sept. 15, 2024 during an afternoon hunt. He shot the buck with a .308 from about 80 yards away while perched in an elevated stand.
No tracking was involved. The buck “flopped straight over” after the shot.
It wasn’t the hunter’s first encounter with the deer. He even had chances to shoot it last season, but decided not to.
“I let the deer walk last year, and it paid off,” said Scott.
