Chad Davis killed a Randolph County 9-point buck that had an 18-inch spread on Oct. 11, 2023. The buck weighed more than 200 pounds. It was a deer that Davis was very familiar with.
“I have been watching this deer for 3 years, and he hasn’t gotten any larger, just thicker. He was showing up on trail cam pics daily, so I decided to get away from work and sit. The buck stepped out with another good buck at 54 yards. I shot him with my TenPoint crossbow. It is the first buck I have killed with a crossbow,” he said.
