13-point buck had double split brow tines
I wanted to share a great hunt I was blessed with on Nov. 20, 2022. A massive 13-point Anson County buck was chasing a doe near my stand around 8:30 a.m. I caught a glimpse of his horns and waited to get a shot. He was headed in the wrong direction and I started to think that I wouldn’t get a clean shot. Suddenly a doe made a 180 degree turn and started heading toward an opening in the woods!
The buck followed and stepped into an opening where I could make a clean kill shot. I calmed my nerves, took a deep breath, and squeezed the trigger of my grandfather’s Remington 78 Sportsman .30-06. When I saw him drop in his tracks, I almost passed out in my deer stand!
What a dream come true. Here’s to the Old North State!
