This was my first deer! Had been prepping since the year before. Three nights in a row in the beautiful afternoon December winter. The first night I had the Buck in my sights and I could not take the shot. These were my buds! The second night I did not have one in the chamber because I set my rifle up on a tri pod and they all came out, I wasn’t ready.. still messing with the tripod. I know. The 3rd night it was like God put this Buck in front of me, so at about 45 yards he came in, I aimed my Savage .243 and pulled the trigger! He bucked once, I saw a blast, and he ran about 30 yards and dropped! Life changing and he has fed my family all year. I value the hunt. It’s a true blessing.
