My First Big Buck

I was sitting in a box stand it was probably around 9:30 am, I heard something I turn and see the first buck I watch it for awhile waiting to get a shot but behind it was another buck. My heart begins to race my adrenaline is pumping at this point they are walking on the top of the hill which is about 150-200 yards from where I’m sitting. I wait and chose a buck to shoot once I was able to get a good clear shot, I MISS. They take off running back up the hill but stop I’m on the phone with my dad at this point whispering telling him I just missed a giant. But then they start walking back down the hill. I get off the phone and they start walking back down but begin to turn going into the pasture I’m following it with my scope and see my opportunity and I take it. This is all within five mins of me missing the first time. I call my nephew and tell him I shot again he jumped up and Mike kicked so I knew I got him. I step out and my nephew comes and we got where I shot him NO BLOOD I started to point and say I know he jumped the fence right here as soon as I pointed I seen him lying in the pasture, but call my grandpa and tell him that I shot a massive buck. We don’t go to him just yet we go and get my grandpa which was hunting on the other side of our property and then we come back, but on our way back, our four wheeler runs out of gas about halfway to where my stand was luckily, we have a deer sled so we walk all the way up the hill across the barb wire fence at the pasture once I seen him close up I thought he was the deer. My dad shot the night before and we couldn’t find looked like he was bloated but as I got closer, I could tell that it was, indeed, my deer. I got excited, loaded him up into the sled and began to drag him all the way back to the truck. I have always used my dad’s 3030 which is now mine he has bought me many guns, but I always turn back to my 3030 I want to say a huge thanks to my dad for always taking me hunting even when I was still a baby in a car seat and a huge thanks to my grandpa who took me yesterday.
