Started getting this guy on camera in May and knew he had potential. Well as the months past and hundreds of pics came in he continued to grow. Finally bow comes in and he showed up at 4am. Told my wife we would have a good chance at him that evening because he would normally come back in when he showed up in the mornings. Boy was I wrong. He disappeared for weeks. The cutover I was hunting was a year old and land owner tried to burn it off. That pushed him out for good. I had had cameras running in next block over but never had any pics of him. Fast forward to Nov.4th. Decided to hunt stand in that block because I had some good bucks on camera there. Morning starts out quick had a really good 8pt come out at first shooting light but I gave him a pass. Had my heart set on this guy. Bout 930 I hear deer running behind me. I figure it's the first deer I passed because that was direction he went. Big old doe comes busting through and the big 8 was on her tail. I had to stop him and shoot quick at bout 40yds. All this happened in like 15 seconds. He made it about 40yds and piled up. I would never though I would kill this deer in this stand. Just goes to show you never know where they'll show up when chasing does.
