Got in the stand around 5:30 AM to see the buck. I haven’t seen in two weeks show back up. Haven’t seen him since I took a shot on him during muzzleloader 2 weeks prior that was missed. At the time i didnt know i missed and searched for hours with No blood. Was hoping that I just didn’t wound this deer and lose it and prayed every night that the Lord would just let me see him to ease my . As a conservationist, we never wanna see that happen. Fast-forward back to opening day of rifle season I get in the stand at 5:30 AM and I see him come on the camera. Raccoons come in and scare them away, not during legal shooting hours but i saw him! So i thank the lord and i called and called trying to get him back in during legal light at 7 o’clock and He came walking back in with two other bucks..a four point and a spike and gave me a shot at 110 yards. This time i dropped him with my 30-30 lever action Henry model X! Double lung right where you want it and he dropped where he stood. All I could say is thank you Jesus for letting me harvest this beautiful animal on opening day my first opening day buck!
