Lucas Oakley’s Granville County beast

Granville County beast was Oakley’s target buck

Hunting on Sept. 9, opening day of North Carolina’s 2023 archery season, Lucas Oakley killed a Granville County beast that was his target buck going into the season.

While he felt fortunate to kill the big buck on opening day, it was not a chance encounter or just a lucky meeting. Oakley targeted this deer and did everything possible to increase his chances of getting a shot at it.

“Been putting in work a couple months now, and I don’t know what to say to be able to get this thing down the first day of bow season🙏🏻 thanks @ray_jason03 for helping cut this hoss up too!,” said Oakley.
