Lower Alamance County 15-point buck

15-point buck weighed 184 pounds

KJ Stewart of Eli Whitney, NC killed an Alamance County 15-point buck on Sept. 21, 2023. He shot the deer with a Darton DS-3900 bow using Gold Tip Pro-Hunter arrows with Rage two-blade broadheads. The buck weighed 184 pounds.

Stewart was alerted to the deer’s presence on his land by trail camera photos.

“I got sporadic pictures of the buck for a week, and knew I needed to be in the stand that afternoon in particular. At 6:02 p.m., he came in at 25 yards. But for 35 minutes, I was pinned down by other small bucks and couldn’t draw my bow. He wandered off, and about 40 minutes later came back in, 20 minutes before last light for more acorns. This time, he gave me a perfect 20-yard broadside shot, and I took advantage of it,” said Stewart.

Once Stewart fired his arrow, the 15-point buck ran about 130 yards, then topped over.
