Late-season brute weighed 225 pounds

Mark Petrantoni bagged a late-season brute in Allendale County, SC on Dec. 29, 2023. The 16-point buck weighed 225 pounds and has been green-scored at 155 inches. The buck aged out at 7.5-years-old, and Petrantoni had a long history with the deer.

“I’ve been hunting him since 2020. I have lots of history and game cam pics of him. We nicknamed him the GP buck,” he said.

A 250-yard shot from a .300 PRC ended the long pursuit of the big buck, which had tall, curvy brow tines and mass throughout its antlers.
