10-point buck dropped on the spot
Lauren Cain of Madison, N.C. killed this 10-point buck in Rockingham County on Nov. 19, 2023. She shot the deer with a Ruger 223.
The deer weighed 185 pounds, field dressed, and has been green-scored at 152 1/8 inches. Cain was sitting in a ground blind, hunting an open field when the buck showed up. Before the hunt, her trail camera had recorded only one nighttime photo of the buck.
When Cain pulled the trigger, the deer dropped in its tracks.
