Late season bow hunt

I got in the stand around 4:00 pm on December 7th. Not long after I sat down 3 does came in picking up some acorns through the woods. I had already stood up just incase A buck happened to be following. They were hanging around near my feeder when I heard something coming to my right. When I saw the horns in the sunlight I knew it was the one I’d been seeing on camera all season. I went ahead and drew back even though he was still in the distance so that I didn’t risk spooking him. It didn’t take long for him to trot up to the does and I took a broadside shot at 35 yards. He took off running through the woods and went out of sight over a small ridge. I waited about 30 minutes before getting down to go see if I could find blood. He had started bleeding not far from where I made the shot and I ended up finding him about 100 yards away. This is my first big buck kill with my compound bow.
