Jackson Cribb wins August Bag-A-Buck

14-year-old killed 8-point buck on Aug. 9

Jackson Cribb of Hanahan, SC killed his first buck on Youth Day of South Carolina’s Game Zone 4 and won our first monthly Bag-a-Buck contest of 2025.

“We had been watching this deer on camera for months leading up to the Youth Day opener,” said Cribb. “The weather blessed us with cooler temps, and the deer were on the move.”

It wasn’t the young hunter’s first time hunting.

“I’ve been hunting for several years but had never harvested a buck before,” he said. “So when a smaller 6-point buck came out and fed in front of us for about 20 minutes, the excitement was real. I was ready to take the shot, but my dad encouraged me to be patient and wait for something bigger. That was so hard!”

But it was well worth the wait.

“A few more deer came through, and then at 7:48 a.m., he stepped out. The buck we had been watching all summer,” he said. “I took the shot at 90 yards, and he dropped right there!

“It’s a moment I’ll never forget. Sharing that experience with my dad and close friends made it even more special. A memory of a liftetime.”

Congratulations Jackson, your Bag-A-Buck prize package is on the way.
