This hunt took place in a hardwood swamp bottom that hasn’t been hunted in at least 6 years. When the landowner bought the property, he was told there were 4 box stands and only located 3 of them. A couple years later, a dry year, the swamp water began receding and he found a road that led to this stand. It was dubbed The Extra Stand, and this was the first hunt out of it since the previous owners. I hung a camera in there the morning of this hunt, had no pictures of this guy but plenty of hot sign, and a couple fresh scrapes. So I decided to sit that evening and it paid off.
