Ezra Smith’s 8-point buck

8-point buck

It was young hunter’s second deer ever

Ezra Smith of Jonesville, SC killed an 8-point buck on the evening of Sept. 14, 2024. He shot the buck from an elevated box stand with a Remington rifle from 130 yards away. It was the second deer he’s ever killed.

“He almost decided not to go hunting that evening, but did and wound up killing this nice 8-pointer going to a persimmon tree,” said his dad, Timmy Smith.

The 13-year-old hunter took his time and waited on a clear shot, and composed himself through Buck Fever.

“After about a good 5 minutes of waiting on the perfect shot, he made an impressive 130-yard shot while shaking like a leaf,” he said. “This was only his second time attempting to take a deer. He was hunting with his father Timmy Smith on their family cattle farm in Jonesville, SC on a Youth Day he’ll never forget.”
