Emily Smith’s Georgetown County buck

“Wide Load” was harvested by Emily Smith as her ice breaker of the season with a .243 Savage on Sept. 25, 2023 at 9:27 am in the small town of Andrews, SC in Georgetown County. He is an 8 point with an 18 3/4-inch rack inside (20-inch outside spread). He had never been seen in person but had been seen several times on cameras around the hunting club.

Great memories were made on this morning hunt with my dad and I can’t wait to make many more this season and seasons to come! To all my fellow hunters, go on the hunt (even if it’s going on a morning hunt before a night shift), go with people you love, enjoy every moment you have, and remember you can’t kill big bucks in the bed.

Thanks,
– Emily Smith
