I never intended for my first deer to be buck as nice as this one, but Gods plane was greater than my own. We named him Crooked Tine because his right g3 points straight down. But we hadn’t seen him on camera in quite a while, but on September 5th he happened to show up. So on September 6th we decided to try. We got in the stand around 6-6:30pm, and by 7:15pm Crooked Tine was down. I watched as a doe walked in the lane infront of me when My boyfriend Adam quietly whispered don’t move, he’s right there. I looked out the corner of my eye and there was Crooked Tine in the far left lane looking right at us. I waited for him to walk, and finally he started walking across the lanes. I got in the scope and then held my breath and prayed he’d stop long enough to pull the trigger. Finally in between the 2nd and 3rd lane he stopped to take a last look around. Without hesitation I pulled the trigger, and bolted right toward the stand. He took a sharp turn toward the right and dropped in between the 3rd and 4th lane. 30-40 yards in front of me. Crooked Tine was down. 165pounds, 8-pt, and in full velvet.
