Starts about a month ago got a real late start far as the early season. Such as setting up cameras and getting ready for the season. The buck I called crab claw started showing up about a month ago. In between times 2-4am but was on camera almost every night. I went and hung my climber in the area I thought he was in real thick pine/oak bottom. Kept getting pictures but none during shooting light until 2 weeks ago. He came out at 7:30pm ate for a while and headed towards the neighbor property. I knew that’s where he was spending most of his time so i backed out of my spot to try and let him get comfortable. Last Sunday he daylight again late in the evening ate for a while and headed back to the neighbor property. Fast forward to yesterday I was hunting another stand where I’ve been having two shooter 8 points showing up pretty good during day light. About 200 yards away I was hunting in my 2 man stand hoping one of the shooters to show up well at 7:28pm crab claw stepped out into the thick pine/oak bottom. My stomach twisted. I sat a lil longer and got out of the stand walked quietly to my truck and went home to game plan. Looked at all the pictures i had of crab claw checked which way the wind was blowing every time he showed up daylight and early mornings. Every picture I’ve had of him he was moving with the wind blowing north. Well today I texted a couple of buddy’s asking what they thought about the situation. Everybody said if the wind is blowing north go hunt him. That’s exactly what i did I got in the woods and in the climber at around 6:05 pm within 15 minutes a doe was already on corn. I was getting excited after I seen her come through that early silently waiting around 7:15pm I heard something coming through the woods behind walking into the wind. I slowly turned around and seen a tall rack 4 point that crab claw was running with in the pictures. I said to myself he’s back there somewhere I watched the smaller buck work around and eat acorns suddenly I caught movement behind him. I looked through the scope and seen it was crab claw I gave him time and let him work around towards me and at about 25 yards I pulled the trigger dropped em.
