Youth hunter’s first buck comes to grunt call
I was barely 10 yards away from the vehicle when I heard crashing in the woods. I stopped as I heard it coming toward me, then a doe came busting out of the woods with two bucks behind her.
I quickly got into my ladder stand with my Remington 243. A little later, a small buck came past my stand. A a short while after that, I decided to try a grunt call. About two minutes after I grunted, I looked to my left and saw a buck trying to figure out what buck was challenging him. I shot him right in the shoulder and watched him run about 50 yards and fall over.
