Evening

A deer me and my dad called Hank (Hank the tank) shared 3 years of history with me on both of the properties I hunted which are about a mile through the woods from one another. This deer was a traveler none the less, now after the kill I’ve been able to have contact with fellow hunters up to 8 miles away with photos of this exact deer at the beginning of the hunting season but this deer had a tendency to call my locations home during or just before the rut as he did this year. What was different about this year tho was he was my number one target and he was a mega giant. I knew I needed to seal the deal before he made his way around with the Doe. Going back to the summer I set up a spot perfectly for funneling deer coming from there bed, just like clock work on October 16th the day before harvesting this deer he would show up coming right from the bedroom only thing was he was 15 minutes late, as it got dark I couldn’t get a shot. I was worried sick that it could have been my only opportunity at him. I picked my brain hard that night on how I could get back in there on him and setup to see him during the day but I stayed patience and went back on the following day playing the winds right and he slipped in at 6:12 with a few doe. He broke from the doe and travelled all the way around to my down wind side and would stay in posture standing on my exact walking trail coming in for 15 mins. He did not move!! It wasn’t until the Doe he come in with circled around and almost checked up on him that he would break posture and begin his way towards me. I was blessed by god and lucky enough to be in the right position at the right time and seal the deal on this once in a lifetime Nc buck
