8-pointer (1st deer ever)

8-pointer was a new visitor

I live in Reidsville, NC and have been going hunting since I was like 5-years-old with my Uncle Derek Jones, but had never had the opportunity to shoot at a deer until Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022. We were in my brother’s deer stand on my grandparent’s land in Rockingham County. We hadn’t been in the stand for more than an hour when out comes this 8-pointer that we had not seen before. Using a Remington 7 .243, I shot him down in his tracks from about 100 yards away.
