Zoey Moody killed her first deer on Youth Day

Seven-year-old Zoey Moody of Salem, S.C. killed her first buck at 8:56 a.m. on Sept. 11. It was Youth Day in her Game Zone, and it was a day she looked forward to with much anticipation. She didn’t just wake up that morning, sit in her dad’s lap, and pull the trigger. She was much more involved than that.

The young lady hunter identified her target buck through trail cam photos leading up to Youth Day. When the day arrived and it was her time to shine, her preparation came through.

“This little girl has put in the practice with her crossbow for months now. And it payed off. She has also checked (trail camera) cards, changed batteries, carried corn, and helped with her blind. Little Zoey put in the work and was set on harvesting this deer,” said her dad, Tyler Moody.

“Her mom Amy Moody and I couldn’t be more proud. It’s a moment the three of us will never forget,” he said.
