6-year-old’s first deer kill captured on video

Young hunter’s dad, uncle, catch special occasion on video

Wyatt Koon, 6-years-old from Gilbert, S.C. killed his first deer on Nov. 1 while hunting with his dad. The young hunter dropped the deer, a button buck, with a .243.

Koon said they were sitting in the stand for 20 or 30 minutes when the deer jumped out. They thought it was a doe at first, and he patiently waited for the deer to offer him a broadside shot. And when the deer obliged, Koon pulled the trigger. The deer dropped on the spot. His dad caught the moment on video, a special moment to be sure.

The youth hunter’s uncle, Buck Koon, then got the full story, in Wyatt’s own words on video. It’s tough to beat watching anyone kill a deer, especially their first. But it’s extra special when you also capture the story in the hunter’s own words on video.

Who else out there has their first kill captured on video? Enter it in our Bag-A-Buck contest today.
