This is the first buck that has been harvested on our property since we purchased the land in 2019. Many hours have gone into food plots, stand placements, water holes, mineral sites. My Grandson is 4 years old and if we are working outside, he is right there with me. He has sweated for this deer just as much as I have sweated. On the evening of October 16, 2025, the deer came into the food plot all by himself at the far end and started making his way towards the stand, walking on the edge and looking at the stand the whole time. At about 100 yards, he made a hard turn into the small pines we had planted about 4 years ago and at that point I was able to raise the window to the blind it get the old Browning 7mm Rem Mag in position. I hit the grunt call 3 times and then settled back into the rifle for a shot if needed. Just a minute or two and he stepped out at at 40 yards right at the waterhole we had placed out there last year. He actually fell face first in the waterhole after the shot. We have been observing him through trail cam pics, but this was the first time, that we had actually laid eyes on him. What a sense of accomplishment!
