It was the afternoon of October 9th. I decided to go to the stand early because i knew they were bedding close by. I snuck into the stand, got set up in the pine thicket and went to try grunting and hitting some antlers together. About a hour and half goes by after a couple rounds of grunts and horns. I set quite waiting. Shortly after i stopped here came a spike checking some does. They walked through the shooting lane at 80 yards. I got ready because i just had a filling. I stayed steady on the gun and as i looked down the scope all i seen was antler beam sticking out. The big 11 i thought as i as started to shake. He then poked his head out looking straight at me. I said a prayer and asked for one more step out into opening. What felt like 10 mins of a stare down was really probably only 2. Eventually he creeped his way into the opening where i sent a round down range. I seen him take off and when i heard a crash i knew it was a good hit. I waited about 20 mins and went to tracking. As i walked down my heart was pounding and as i seen hin laying i had to take a knee because he was the biggest deer Ive ever shot.
