On Saturday June 17, 2023, five of my friends and I chartered a boat out of Oregan Inlet to catch tuna. It was a slow-starting day when all of a sudden, BAM! fish on. Just feet from the boat we all watched three sharks, including what looked to be a 10- or 12-foot hammerhead, eat our prized fish in a matter of seconds. While we reeled a 40-pound head to the boat, we realized we also had a nice yellowfin on that had been eaten also. I feel sorry for the Sensation boat at Big Rock. We know the feeling of sharks eating our fish.
