SEA WOLF wins $131,407 in Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament

Ashley Payret, fishing aboard SEA WOLF during the 26th Annual Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament out of Morehead City on June 10, 2023, caught a 50.7-pound dolphin, winning $131,407 for the team. Capt. Donnie White was at the helm, and other team members included Alyssa Crane, Rachel Earp, Theresa Koch, Brittani Koch and Suzy Steadman.

LADY DIANNE finished second in the Dolphin Category with a 37.6 pounder, and earned $13,655.

MAMA TRIED took the honors in the wahoo category, boating a 41.9-pound ‘hoo that was worth $20,482. SAVANNA LEIGH’s 22-pound wahoo won $13,655.

Mary Michael McLamb won the Jr. Angler Release Division, with a blue marlin released from MAGIC MOMENT. Brice McClendon’s 15.8-pound dolphin was tops in the Jr. Angler Dolphin Division. She was fishing aboard MARSH MADNESS.

Winning the tournament’s Billfish Release Category was GRAND SLAM with 961.8 points. Captained by Dave Grubbs, anglers Leigha Heverly, Jordan Lopez, Carly McDavid and Tayler Rizza teamed up for a total of three billfish (two blue marlins and one sailfish). The team also weighed a 36.8-pound dolphin.

WELDOR’S ARK took second place in the Billfish Release Category, scoring 809.8 points. Capt. Dale Britt led the way for anglers Jane Britt, Alison Britt, Tammy Carter, Dawn Murphy, Judy Roberts and Sailor White. They released two blue marlins. They also weighed a 9.8-pound dolphin.

Rounding out the Top 3 was MAGIC MOMENT, captained by Pete Rae with anglers Mary Michael McLamb and Emma Pridgen teaming up to release two blue marlins.
