Fitzgerald catches 11.6-pound bass

One of the last casts of the day, I flipped a rubber frog across a large float of lily pads. The silence of the late afternoon lake exploded with an open-mouthed swallow, nearly flipping the kayak. Both a personal best and a NC state trophy, at 11.6 pounds, this monster bass is the culmination of a summer of hard work!
