Devin Dooley of Lexington, SC killed an 8-point buck in Lexington County, SC on Oct. 6, 2026.
He shot the buck with a .30-06 savage during an evening hunt while sitting in an elevated stand from 50 yards away.
Dooley summed up the hunt with these words:
“I’ve been after this deer for 3 years. He first showed up on camera during the 2023-24season but I never saw him during a hunt.
During the 24-25 season he showed back up sporting a drop time on the front of his right beam, but unfortunately he ended up breaking off his antler at the beginning of October that year and I never really saw him much after that.
Now this season he didn’t grow a drop or anything crazy. He got a little smaller but that’s due to his age. Can’t really tell exactly how old he his, but my guess is at least 6- if not 7-years-old.”
Dooley is now entered in our Bag-A-Buck Contest, and is eligible to win our monthly prize pack, which includes a set of Ultimate Eyes & Ears Combo from ShellShock Pro, a YETI Rambler bottle, a prize package from Buck Commander and Duck Commander, and a Carolina Sportsman hat, as well as our Grand Prize, a 2-day hunt for two to Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge in Chesterfield County, SC.
