Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from SCS

The staff and families of South Carolina Sportsman Magazine would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The staff and families of South Carolina Sportsman Magazine would like to wish a Merry Christmas to all our readers, advertisers, freelance writers, and the many friends we have made over these past few months of getting started. We would also like to send everyone our best wishes for a safe, happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

We have many excellent projects and feature articles planned for 2006. First and foremost, we promise to give you twelve months of articles and news about hunting and fishing, right here in South Carolina.

Our largest project is the South Carolina Sportsman Fishing School. Based on the success of these events with our sister publication North Carolina Sportsman, Mercury Marine has joined us as the title sponsor of this event. We anticipate an excellent event for 2006, with continued growth into the future.

Along with a day of fresh and salt water fishing instruction, loads of manufacturer’s samples, multiple door prizes and much more, several lucky participants will become finalists in the Grand Door Prize Drawing (all NCS and SCS Fishing Schools) to win a 18-foot Sea Pro Skiff, with a 50 HP Mercury 4-stroke outboard and a Road King Trailer.

The fishing school staff will be made up of guides, charter fishermen, tournament anglers, and other knowledgeable fishermen from across the state. The date is February 25, at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center in N. Myrtle Beach and will be in partnership with the N. Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department and Bass Pro Shops-Myrtle Beach.

North Carolina Sportsman will also host similar events on March 11 in Holly Springs (Near Raleigh) and March 18 in Greenville. These Fishing Schools are events you shouldn’t miss.

Other special projects are being discussed. As plans are finalized, they will be announced in South Carolina Sportsman Magazine.

We will be attending many of the S.C. boat, fishing, and hunting shows this year. If you attend one of the shows, please take the time to stop by our booth and introduce yourself. If you won’t be attending, send us a letter or E-mail to tell us what you like, or dislike, about the magazine and the web site. We look forward to hearing from you. The address is 1131 Anderson Street–Wilson, NC 27893. The E-mail address is tconti@ncsmag.com.
