‘Duplin County Hunter’ joins moderation team

Joshua David Norwood, aka Duplin County Bowhunter, is the latest addition to the NorthCarolinaSportsman.com moderation team.

Joshua Norwood, known better as Duplin County Bowhunter, has been a fixture on the NorthCarolinaSportsman.com forum for the past couple of years.

Now he’s been tapped as the latest addition to the site’s moderation team.Check out his profile here.

The 28-year-old Kenansville outdoorsman grew up fishing, with a special focus on Barnacle Bills Fishing Pier at Surf City.

“Man, I have some great memories from those days that I will never forget,” Norwood said. “Even though Hurricane Fran destroyed our pier, I can still see it through all the good memories.

Norwood still surf fishes, but he also spends time chasing freshwater fish.

“However I love plugging for Spanish (mackerel), as well as flounder gigging,” he said. “I also love chasing largemouth bass in the spring.”

About eight years ago, the hunting bug finally bit him.

“My older brother had bowhunted some, but it was not until I picked up a bow that I really got hooked,” he said. “So now eight years later, here I am. I bowhunt 98 percent of the time; it doesn’t matter what I am hunting.”

Norwood said he NorthCarolinaSportsman.com has become a vital part of his outdoor experience.

“I was able to meet some really great guys over the last couple of years,” he said. “This site made it all possible: I am just excited to see what the future may hold.”
