August issue of South Carolina Sportsman highlights upcoming deer season

Bull redfish invade Little River this month; learn how to find them on the jetties.

The August issue of South Carolina Sportsman should be on newsstands in the next day or two, and it should be a must read for deer hunters interested in knowing how the state’s herd is doing and what area you might choose to target this year.

In addition to a statewide deer preview, discover great Lake Wateree hot spots for bass, crappie, stripers and catfish; get a grip on drifting for redbreast sunfish on two beautiful blackwater rivers, and learn about bowfishing the Santee Cooper lakes.

Also, learn how to catch bull redfish around Little River’s jetties and redfish in the waters around Beaufort.

Last but not least, take advantage of your chance to plant cool-season food plots this month, and learn why it’s not all that bad to feel “crabby.”
