Unique coloring was a bonus
Dalton Filyaw of Pamplico, SC killed an 8-point buck in Florence County, SC on Sept. 7, 2026.
Filyaw shot the buck with a Remington .30-06 during an evening hunt while sitting in an elevated stand.
He summed up the hunt with these words:
“I sat in the stand Monday evening and watched a few does and little bucks keep coming and going. I was about to get up and make my way down the stand when I looked up and saw him standing on the corn pile. I didn’t even notice his coloring until I walked up to him. Once in a lifetime buck, and all I have to say is thanks to the good Lord above for sending him out for me.”
