Branson Lane of Ridgeville, SC killed an 8-point buck in Orangeburg County, SC on Aug, 22, 2026.
He shot the buck with a .308 savage during an afternoon hunt while sitting in an elevated stand from 125 yards away.
“A small buck walked out. We recognized him from pictures we had. A big buck has always been with him so, we waited. Finally, the big 8 stepped out, but then we had four more bucks walk out after that. We had never seen this bachelor group before. Branson had to be patient and waited about 4 minutes, then finally got a shot. The buck dropped in his tracks. This was his first deer ever at 6-years-old.”
