It was a quiet morning. I heard one gobble off in the distance, but it was far out. I decided to set up on the edge of the field in the woods to see if anything else came in. The far out turkey gobbled every other time my husband called. Maybe a total of five gobbles in an hour and a half. But each gobble was closer and closer until I could see his blue and red head running through the woods straight for us. He came in alone. I waited for him to get to a point to give me an open shot. I took the shot at 20 yards and he dropped in his tracks. It was a good morning in the turkey woods. So thankful to get to make that memory with my best friend.
