Ryker Callahan, 5, killed his first turkey in Scotland County on April 4, 2026 (NC Youth Day) with his Dad and Grandpa in the blind with him. The birds were gobbling on the roost, then flew down and gobbled for about and hour without moving. Finally, a hen came into view and 3 toms were following. They hung up at about 125 yards and turned and walked away. About 2 hours later, Ryker’s Dad spotted them going across the field and we were able to get their attention and bring them into range. They came into the decoy and Ryker was able to adjust the one of the turkeys with his 410 and placed a perfect shot.
