Small acreage buck

It all started when I first got a trail camera picture of this buck back in August he showed up with a bachelor group of about seven bucks and right away I could tell that he was definitely the biggest in the group so I continued to get pictures of him everyday over the course of about 2 weeks then it became very hit or miss if he showed up or not august 25th 2025 was the last picture I had of him until September 29th when he showed back up with a bachelor group around 6:30 pm during the rain right then is when I knew if I wanted a opportunity to harvest him I had to be in the woods the next day luckily I was able to get off of work in time to hit the woods at about 6pm I had two small bucks that he was normally around show up they stayed for a little while and then left no sign of this deer yet at around 6:30pm I caught a glimpse of something down in the bottom about 100 yards away from me I quickly looked through my binoculars and could tell it was the buck I was after. He came a little closer and then got hung up for 45 minutes. He never moved an inch in that time examining everything in the woods finally he made a move and came straight into range. I quickly got ready and took the shot at 17 yards with my crossbow. I knew I had made a good shot but I still gave him some time about 30 minutes passed and I started blood trailing he ran almost 50 yards and fell right into a creek bottom. To this date this is my biggest buck harvest having a 21” inside spread and weighing 218.2 pounds truly a great way to start my 2025 season. Tyler Armfield
