Areas are closed until further notice
Due to high water conditions on the Cape Fear River and Lumber River, both in the southeastern portion of the state, the NCWRC has closed several boating access areas.
In Cumberland County, Fayetteville (Old 87) access area has been closed until further notice.
In Bladen County, Tory Hole and Elwells Ferry have been closed until further notice.
In Robeson County, McNeils Ridge, High Hill, and Lennons Bridge access areas have been closed until further notice.
High water is also the cause of a few game lands being closed. River end of Whitehall Road in Whitehall Plantation Game Land (Baden County) has been closed until further notice. About 1/4-mile of the way in to Camp Road on Whitehall Plantation Game Land all the way to the river is currently closed.
On Suggs Mill Pond Game Land in Bladen and Cumberland Counties, Lake Road just past the dam, Sandridge Road, and Loop Road are closed until further notice.
The agency will reassess conditions later this week and make changes accordingly.
