November the 12, 2015 was a great day of hunting. Getting in the stand at 5 am was early but much needed to not disturb the area. At about 8:15am I heard some noise coming from behind me and then started to hear a grunt. The does comes in cruising and this monster comes in behind her about 20 yards back. Once I see them I grab my bow and wait for him to come into distance. Once in distance and my heart pounding I shot and he dropped straight down. It was a blessing I didn't have to track him. I had a friend come help me drag him 125 yards which took us over an hour though the woods. Took him to Foster's Meats in Duncan,SC and they weighed him in at 195lbs and was a four and a half year old 9 pointer. Thrilling hunt and biggest dear I have ever killed. It will be mounted in my soon to arrive daughter's nursery.
