With the plentiful bait that is stocked into Lake Lure, the fish grow fat. Moreover, they learn to school as a team by chasing the bait to the surface, crashing it, then picking off the loner baits that have been separated from the school. All this means top water action is hot on Lake Lure in June and July during morning and evening hours. Check out some of these that we recently caught during the evening bass 'rush hour'
The white bass have finished their spawn. They are beginning to blitz the baitfish in 20 - 40 foot water. We've caught many on silver jerkbaits and shadraps. For a Lake Lure fishing excursion, this is the time to fish.
