  • Got this guy last night outside of Fuquay Varina. Couldn't believe the size. His neck was huge. Scale said 199.6 lbs but that's because my hoist couldn't get him all the way off the ground. His feet were still on the ground and after I managed to suspend the whole deer the scale came in at 204.3 lbs.

I did take him to the taxidermist on Sat morning. He didn't have time to age him but said he is qualified to examine the jaw bone and teeth etc to get and accurate age on him. He said he will do that once he starts working on him and let me know. I will update ya'll later once I find out for sure. Good news is I think I saw his big brother on my trail cam the other day. Body size looks to be identical but with larger set of horns! Pics were blurry so I couldn't tell for sure but it has definently got me back in the woods every chance I get. Thanks for all the positive comments.

Judging from his teeth or lack of teeth, grey face and muzzle, and size I am thinking he was at least a 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 year old deer. Taking him to taxidermist this weekend. Would like to get a professionals opinion.
